Coconut Shake @ Melaka

Hello world!

Third post on my Melaka trip, this show how awesome that trip was.

Shiat Teen brought my friends and I to this road stall where they sell coconut shake, we reach there around 5pm and people are already Q-ing up by the roadside.. The coconut shake was so refreshing and mouth watering that I almost finish it in one gulp. The shake contain a mixture of coconut water, coconut flesh and ice-cream. Some people like it with extra ice-cream on top, but I think it's best when it's serve just the way it is. You can taste the ice-cream, in the mean time the cold, refreshing coconut water.

If I'm not mistaken, it's RM2.50 per cup. It's not that expensive comparing to buying a coconut yourself. There's a beach nearby Klebang, therefore you can go grab the coconut shake right after your sexy sun tan. Although it's not the best dessert you can get around the state, but it's a MUST TRY! Especially when you're in Malaysia weather.

I rate this 8/10.

Klebang Coconut Shake is located right beside Caltex Klebang Besar.

Cendol @ Jonker Street

Hello world!

There's so much to blog about my Melaka trip that I have to blog it in different post. Cendol is an authentic food that Malaysian's crave for, especially during hot weather.

This shop that I went to, it's a small grocery shop, with a small store right outside selling Cendol.

IMG_3957

Honestly, the Cendol served here is not that special, I read a few newspaper segment talking about this Cendol store but I find not really much different comparing to those that sells Cendol at the road side in a van. I find it pricey as well, RM3 for one cup of Cendol is way too much.

IMG_3955

IMG_3960

DO NOT WASTE YOUR STOMACH ON THIS! Not worthy at all.

Now this is the part where good Cendol comes in. When walking to the Chicken Rice Shop, I saw this big board writing Durian Cendol, I was so amazed by the idea of mixing Durian and Cendol, eventhough I was carrying one big Chicken Rice Ball in my stomach, I insists of buying it and try.

IMG_3991

The durian smell is so strong that I can even smell it just by holding it. It's basically Durian with Cendol's ingredient. You can still eat the peanut and jelly in Cendol, but the Durian cover up the "Santan" smell in Cendol. Durian Cendol even comes with a cardboard handle. Despite all that, it's still a must try if you are visiting Jonker Street!

IMG_3995

It cost almost the same price as the one above, RM2++, but it's so much more worthy buying this.

To all durian cravers! This is it. To its amazing idea of mixing Cendol and durian, I rate this 8/10.

Chicken Rice Ball @ Jonker Street

Hello world!

Recently, my friends and I went down to Melaka just to spend two days of bonding session. Instead of bonding, we eat, and eat, and eat.

We spend one whole day in Jonker Street, ate more than 3 meals in Jonker Street as well.

IMG_3935

First, we had our lunch in a small Chicken Rice shop located right in front of Jonker Street. I rushed over to the shop as I feel that they might close earlier due to selling out all their chicken rice. When I got there, tons of human are already Q-ing up waiting for their turn.

IMG_3980

"Kedai Kopi Chung Hwa" serve the best Chicken Rice Ball in Malaysia, I can guarantee that. We waited for almost half an hour under the hot sun, but to me, it's so worthy. The rice balls it's just so tasty, I have no idea what other word to describe it, but it's so tasty.

IMG_3985

Braised Chicken served in the kopitiam, I would say, it's just normal, not much difference comparing to other normal Chicken Rice shop, but what attract tourist to visit this kopitiam is definitely the Chicken Rice Ball.

IMG_3987

There was 11 of us, we ordered 3 plates of Chicken, 15 plates of Chicken Rice Balls and drinks and it cost us RM80++, which means it's around RM 7.50 per person. It's not even expensive.

The rice ball is seriously the best Chicken Rice Ball in Malaysia. I've a promise to myself to go every single time I visit Melaka, cause that's how awesome it is.

I rate the Chicken Rice Ball, 10/10.

Giant Burger @ Frontera, Jaya One

Hello world!

So last week, My band - Lyon, and I performed at a Mexican Restaurant owned by a good friend of mine, Ramesh in Jaya One. By looking at the tables around me, I see burgers 3 times bigger than McDonald's burger. So I asked the waiter, and ordered a Chili Cheeseburger. According to the waiter it's like the second best burger of the Restaurant. It was SUPREME AWESOME! A bite of the burger squeeze the juice from the beef patty right in your mouth. The cheese, the patty, the chili, the sauce everything creates a fusion merging in your mouth while chewing it.

So there you go, if you're crazing for big burgers and drinking at the same time, Frontera is the right place to go. I rate the Chili Cheese Burger 9/10.

Mamak @ Saji SS2

Hello World!

This has been a weekly routine ever since my friend, Philip discover the best "dal" of his life. My Uni mates and I have to visit Saji at least once a week. It's like a drug to us, without the "dal", we can't live.

IMG_3224

From what I've ate, Saji has the best Maggie Mee Goreng in PJ Area. I like the sour taste when you squeeze the lime into the noodle, it's gives a mouth watering feeling in your mouth.

IMG_3219

The fried chicken, although it's not the best friend chicken I've eaten, but what makes it great is that they re-fry it for you. It gives the freshness and the crispy-ness when you chew it in your mouth.

It's a must try if you are searching for Mamak in SS2 area, I rate this restaurant 8/10.

Delicious @ Bangsar Village

Hello world!

After few days of planning where to spend our first paid gig, Shiat Teen and I decided to go Delicious. I wanted to go KL's Delicious but she thought it was far (which is not), so we ended up going to Bangsar. It was full of humans and even before stepping in the restaurant, I already feel like a rich man. The aura of expensive food fly through my face. My impression of Delicious wasn't that good due to some free high tea voucher my mum got, but this visit to Delicious was delicious.

Shiat Teen was craving for Delicious' Carbonara, actually that is one of the reason we decided to head there. But according to her, the dish wasn't as nice as she expected. She was complaining the sauce being too liquified. The spaghetti doesn't have enough taste, it tasted like they forgot to add milk in the cream. Overall, not so good.

IMG_3135

I ordered Seafood Linguine which cost around RM28. Now this is awesome. It may look not so nice just by looking it, but think again after u eat it. My first mouth of this pasta was like jizzing in the pants. Despite the price, but this is worth the pay.

IMG_3133

Here comes the part that made Delicious delicious. The Chocolate Brownies! If you haven't try this, you have been missing out. I thought my all-time favorite cake was Secret Recipe's Marble Cheese, but just a piece of the brownies changed my life. The mixture of cold Vanilla Ice-cream and warm thick chocolate brownies has made my life brighter than ever. The combination of the ice-cream and the cake reminds me of Katy Perry's Hot n Cold. It is that awesome.

IMG_3140

Well, without her, I would not have a life changing experience in one night. And I believe that in the future, all her colleagues, who works with her, will have a hard time working with her, cause she is that awesome.

IMG_3138

Because of the awesome-ss dessert I ever eat in my entire life, I rate it 9/10.

Pork Burger @ Kissaten

Hello world!

Few weeks ago, I was playing in a gig at Frontera @Jaya One, a few of my friends came along with me. Every single time before I play, I have a rule where I can't eat before I play, because it'll ruin my vocals. Thanks to my friend, they went to eat Pork Burger without me. So a few weeks later, which is yesterday, I finally got to try the Pork Burger @ Kissaten. It is AWESOME! It tasted like pork "pau" at first, but it is more than that. The combination of the egg, the BBQ sauce and the pork is even better than when Sylvester Stallone meets Jason Statham in The Expandables, way better than Edward Cullen team up with Jacob to fight against the bad vampires in Twilight. Beat that!

IMG_3120

IMG_3119

According to my friend, it's full of humans during lunch and dinner. It was empty when I went there because my breakfast was in between lunch and dinner. I know my time is screwed. Anyway, I personally think that Kissaten is a nice place to have high tea with just 3 or 4 friends, it have a very quiet and calm environment where people are able to chit chat and laugh while eating.

IMG_3109

Nothing can be awesome when you don't have your good friends being around you and moan when you eat. "Mmmmm, I would love to tap that pig, oink" says Philip.

IMG_3108

IMG_3106

Kissaten provides a fusion of Japanese and Western food. But the Pork Burger is just pure awesome, and it only cost RM10.90.

IMG_3104

Everything in life always comes with a but. The Pork Burger is serve only the burger, no fries or any side dishes. The beverages are pricey. I ordered a Cold Ocha (Green Tea) and it cost me freaking RM6, which is the same price as the Wedges in their menu.

Well because of the burger, and a nice environment, I rate it 8/10.

The Pork Burger is a MUST TRY!
If you think you ate Big Pau "Chinese Big Bun" before, think again after you eat this.
